While appearing on the 6th season of Bachelor in Paradise, Demi revealed that she had been dating a woman, Kristian Haggerty, back home. She was not able to stop thinking about her during her stay in Paradise and Kristian surprised her by coming all the way to Mexico to evolve their relationship. They got engaged at the end of the show. She proposed to Kristian at the end of paradise and Kristian proposed on the reunion show. They announced their split on October 31, 2019.
