The 15th season of The Bachelorette premiered May 13, 2019. The season featured 24-year-old Hannah Brown, an interior designer.

She first appeared on the 23rd season of The Bachelor, where she was rejected by Colton Underwood. She went on to place seventh overall. Brown is the first Bachelorette cast member to not have placed in the top four of a season of The Bachelor.

She ultimately chose Jed Wyatt and accepted his proposal.

Filming and development[]

Hannah was named as the Bachelorette during the After the Final Rose special of the 23rd season of The Bachelor on March 12, 2019.

On March 21, 2019, filming was first spotted at Newport, Rhode Island and several reports are seen filming in Boston, Massachusetts a week later. Production crews have also reported in Inverness, Scotland, United Kingdom at MacGregor's Bar nestling over River Ness. In addition to those three, the season will also include visits in Latvia, The Netherlands and Greece.

Appearances for this season are runway model J. Alexander, drag queens Alyssa Edwards and Alaska, actors Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen, musicians Lukas Graham and Jake Owen and Boston Celtics basketball players Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier.

Casting and contestants[]

Hannah met five contestants on the After the Final Rose show. She handed out one rose and gave it to Cam.

33 contestants were announced on March 14, 2019.

However, on May 7, 2019, only 30 contestants were announced via Facebook Live.

The cast includes Connor Jenkins, the son of journalist Nancy Loo and Daron Blaylock, the son of retired NBA basketball player Mookie Blaylock.

Controversies[]

On June 18, 2019, People released a story that contestant Jed Wyatt was in a relationship with Nashville musician Haley Stevens before and during filming of the season. Stevens stated that Wyatt promised her he was going on the show purely to further his music career, that he did not intend to begin a relationship with Brown, and any appearance of him pursuing Brown was simply "acting". She additionally published letters that Wyatt wrote to her, where he stated how someday she would be thankful that he did this. In the first episode, Brown had eliminated contestant Scott Anderson before the first rose ceremony after she was informed that Andersen still had a girlfriend back home.

The stakes are high when one bachelor must overcome his fears and race through the mud on a one-on-one date, while eight others gear up for a roller derby competition hosted by Fred Willard and Chris Harrison.

Husband-and-wife actors Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen take eight men to a birthing class. The Bachelorette gets a real-life health scare and one bachelor comes to her rescue. In return, she rewards him with a private concert by Danish pop-and-soul band Lukas Graham, performing their hit, "Love Someone." Hannah brings another group of men on a professional photo shoot where they are shocked to find that they are posing with professional models—who are adorable animals.

Hannah takes her journey to find love on the road as she and the remaining 15 men travel to Boston and Newport, R.I. Jed takes in the city sights with Hannah, shopping at Quincy Market, strolling in Boston Common and lifting a pint at the iconic "Cheers" bar. But the Bachelorette has a real surprise for her date: a visit to the Auerbach Center, where the 17-time World Champion Boston Celtics practice, for an opportunity to play a pickup game with Celtics stars Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier.
5	"Week 5A: Scotland"	June 11, 2019
Hannah pulls two bitter rivals aside to try to get to the truth behind the bad blood between them. Her efforts to mediate backfire with the rose ceremony looming. But before the first rose is even handed out, a shocking disappointment leaves Hannah questioning herself and the remaining men. Trying to leave the drama stateside, she embarks on an overseas adventure, greeting her suitors in Inverness, Scotland. Hannah and her first one-on-one date explore the local culture.
6	"Week 5B: The Journey So Far"	June 17, 2019
Luke P.'s Hail Mary plea for Hannah's heart after not receiving her date rose makes matters worse with the remaining men. After listening to her suitors argue, Hannah becomes infuriated. The next rose ceremony brings more broken hearts, but even though Hannah's frustration with the men continues, she hopes for a new start in Riga, Latvia, a romantic city steeped in history. Suddenly, however, Hannah explains to Chris Harrison that she is not in a good place. All the drama has clouded her vision.
7	"Week 6: Latvia"	June 24, 2019
Hannah looks forward to taking her nine remaining men to beautiful Riga, Latvia, on the Baltic Sea. One handsome suitor, who has been crushing hard on Hannah, is awarded the first one-on-one date. It turns out to be a heart-stopping but liberating experience as the couple bungee jump wearing little clothing. Later, on a group date to Riga Central Market, Hannah rewards another bachelor who presents her with flowers and passionate kisses; and two archrivals face off in a wrist-wrestling match.

With hometowns the following week, tensions are high as the show moves to Amsterdam, Netherlands. Hannah and one of the men goes exploring Amsterdam, while she goes horseback riding with another. A date gets artistic and more drama unfolds.
9	"Week 8: Hometowns"	July 8, 2019
Hannah returns to the states to visit the hometowns and meet the families of her final four men: Jed, Luke P., Peter, and Tyler C. Her challenging journey to find love is about to get more difficult as tough questions still need to be answered. Are all of these men marriage material? Hannah will attempt to find out from those who know them best. She struggles with her final decision, but what happens at the rose ceremony makes Bachelor franchise history.

Will Luke P.’s emotional hold on Hannah continue? She is still looking for the clarity she was seeking with the men during the hometown dates. Will she finally send the controversial Luke P. home or be drawn into his web once more?

Luke P.’s stunning final standoff in Greece is revealed; and then, the controversial bachelor will take the hot seat opposite Chris Harrison to give his side of the story. The other men, fired up by Luke P.’s self-defense, explode into the vitriolic outburst they have been holding back all season long. Hannah and Jed have ended their engagement after it was revealed that Jed already had a girlfriend.

Tyler and Hannah have been linked on many occasions but they both have denied that they are together.

Peter was engaged to Hannah Sluss for 30 days before changing his mind and pursued a relationship with Madison Prewett. They have also broken up. He is currently dating Kelley Flanagan.

Connor briefly dated Whitney Fransway.

Dylan is engaged to Hannah Godwin whom he met on the 6th season of Bachelor in Paradise.

John Paul Jones briefly dated Tayshia Adams whom he met on the 6th season of Bachelor in Paradise.
