Garrett Vincent Yrigoyen was a contestant on the 14th season of The Bachelorette, where he got engaged to Becca Kufrin.

Personal life[]

He was previously married to Kayla Yrigoyen from 2015-2016.

He got engaged to Becca Kufrin after meeting her on the 14th season of The Bachelorette.

"From honking up the driveway in a minivan filled with orange slices and diapers to fly fishing in your backyard, I knew that you and I shared something very special with one another. When we were building our dream home out of sand, talking about our kids, talking about our future, I knew that I loved you so much and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you and wake up next to you and have you in my arms every single day in my life. I love you so much. Not just now but forever. You're my world." - Garrett to Becca

"Before you go on I have something that I need to say. Starting out this dream, I didn't know what to expect. And I didn't know if there would be anyone in that group of guys, really for me. And since night one I saw something in you. I felt something in you so much so that you got that first rose, you got that "First Impression Rose" because, you know, right away, I felt something so strong and I reread my journal and you were the first guy I ever wrote about in it. And I wrote in it that you reminded me of home and you reminded me of one of the most important men in my life and that was my dad. This journey has been a roller coaster of every emotion but the one strongest emotion is love and I've been waiting to say it for the right person, I've been holding back because I wanted to be a thousand percent certain. Garrett Vincent Yrigoyen, I love you. I love you so much!" - Becca to Garrett

"Uh, it means the world! I love you so much! Becca... Rebecca Jill Kufrin, my Becca, will you marry me?" - Garrett proposing to Becca

Their immediate plan was to move in together in the nearest future and maybe get a couple of dogs.

In June 2020, Becca revealed that she didn't know where they stood in their relationship. They had a falling out when Garrett showed support for police officers during the case of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement. On September 1, 2020, Becca revealed, on her podcast "Bachelor Happy Hour", that she and Garrett had decided to end their engagement.

He has been in a relationship with Alex Farrar since September 2020. They announced their engagement on October 2, 2022, and they married on November 3, 2023.

Controversy[]

He came under fire when it was revealed that he had liked offensive posts on Instagram that mocked the trans community, immigrants, and liberal women, along with one post that referred to a survivor of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting as a crisis actor. He later apologized on Instagram for the hurt and offense that liking the posts may have caused and stated that he will be more mindful of what he likes in the future as those likes "were not a true reflection of [him] or [his morals]".
