Television

The Bachelor

Bristowe was a contestant on Chris Soules's season of The Bachelor. She caught the audience's attention with her wry, sometimes inappropriate sense of humor. She placed third overall, losing to runner-up Becca Tilley and winner Whitney Bischoff.

The Bachelorette

On The Bachelor "After the Final Rose" segment, host Chris Harrison announced that season eleven would begin with two Bachelorettes, Bristowe and fellow season nineteen contestant Britt Nilsson, and that the men would vote to keep one of the two women on the first night of the show. Bristowe ultimately earned more votes than Nilsson, and she became the official bachelorette of season eleven. During week four of the season, Bristowe made the controversial decision to allow season ten contestant Nick Viall to enter the competition, after she ran into him during a group date in New York City. Viall became the runner-up when Bristowe chose contestant Shawn Booth. Booth proposed to Bristowe in the season finale, and she accepted.

Dancing with the Stars

During The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons - Ever!, she was announced as the first participant in Season 29 of Dancing with the Stars. At first, she mistook the moment as her boyfriend Jason Tartick proposing.

She was partnered with Artem Chigvintsev.

Personal life

She met Shawn Booth on her season of The Bachelorette. They got engaged at the end of the season, but never set a wedding date. They ended their relationship in October 2018.

In March, 2017, she shared on Instagram, that she had made the decision to freeze her eggs. She had the help of Bachelor (season 19) star Whitney Bischoff who works as a fertility nurse. On the same day Carly Waddell and Andi Dorfman also froze their eggs.

She is currently dating Jason Tartick from the 14th season of The Bachelorette. They live in Nashville. In June 2019, they adopted a Golden Retriever, Ramen, from South Korea, through an organization called "Bunny's Buddies". In December they rescued another Golden Retriever, Pinot, from the same organization.

In May 2020, she opened up in a YouTube video and revealed that she had been addicted to Valium: "I had become addicted to Valium and I was about 93lb and that is when somebody had to shake me and say "You can’t live like this"."

Health
