The 27th season of The Bachelor premiered on January 23, 2023. It features 26-year-old Zach Shallcross, a tech executive.
Zach previously appeared on Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey's season of The Bachelorette.
He ultimately decided to propose to Kaitlyn Biggar.
Filming and development[]
The season is delayed by three weeks from its standard first week of January start, to avoid a potential clash with ABC's coverage of Monday Night Football.
Filming began on September 26, 2022, in Los Angeles. On October 22, the show was seen filming in Tallinn, Estonia. This season also includes visits to The Bahamas, London, England, Budapest, Hungary, and concluded in Krabi, Thailand in mid-November.
Casting and contestants[]
Zach Shallcross was first reported to be the frontrunner for the Bachelor by Variety on September 14, 2022. He was formally announced on September 20, 2022, on After The Final Rose.
Zach met 5 of his women during the After The Final Rose special, Brooklyn, Brianna, Bailey, Cat and Christina.
32 potential women were announced on September 23, 2022 on the official Bachelor Facebook page. The final 30 women were revealed on January 4, 2023.
Notable contestants include Christina Mandrell, niece of country music singer Barbara Mandrell, and Miss South Carolina 2018 Davia Bunch.
